Luck of the Irish

Ireland was not among my destinations to spend a week, to learn English nor to live for two years. Dublin was really my last option at the time I decided to spend sometime abroad. My choice was made considering the easiest country to get in not the best to be honest. I got here end of September and wow "can this country get colder" I thought, maybe not...maybe yes (100 times yes). Apart from feeling alone and struggling to keep up the good sense of humour in a cold and dark country (I am not criticizing, just pointing out a fact), I am so far very pleased with my experience in Ireland and I've learned a beautiful lesson, If I may say, home is where you live and where you are welcome. I see now that it's not about choosing the best but choosing the right that really matters. I hope I can bring with me the luck of the Irish wherever I go and I can not thank enough this country for all the great times I had here. (maybe to be continued)

Away from home

Being away from home drives me a bit mad sometimes. Here I am living my own life, caring about my own stuff, making my own decisions, washing my own clothes and....oh well, that's an endless list...but here I am having a great time doing what I like most. Travelling keeps me alive...and insane time to time I have to say...it's enjoyable being on the road...but what comes next? and what was left behind that it's always holding me back? I am not asking you these questions, I'm asking myself why I never find an answer to them. I don't really think I miss the life I had but I miss a piece of that cake....or maybe some pieces. First trip to Scotland

My first trip to Scotland was last year and I was very excited to see those cute man playing the bagpipes and wearing that kilt...(and no I was not interested whether they were wearing or not underpants). The trip went well apart from the weather...I did know it could be very cold...but nobody ever told me I would end up with frostbite on my ears. Heaven, it was freezing cold...Oh well, off I went to the Highlands hoping I could see Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster...all I saw was a beautiful landscape and a lovely couple that got my attention - she was chinese and he was scottish - (I am a big fan of these nationalities mix - full stop). Our guide was a funny Scottish lad...but he seemed to understand very little about any other part of the world, apart from Canada, Australia, the UK and the USA (and please don't ask me to say America cuz America is a continent not a country as far as I am concerned)....he was kind of talking to the tourists from these areas and ignoring the others....thanks heaven I am a proud brazilian woman who was not offended by that...to be continued
